Kazakh group of tribal communities in the Central and North-East Kazakhstan. Middle zhuz occupied the central and eastern part of modern Kazakhstan.

In the late XIX - early XX centuries the number of Kazakhs of the Middle zhuz was approximately 1 million 350 thousand people. If to this number we add the tribes of Kerey and Nayman, who lived in China and Mongolia, their number will exceed 1 million 500 thousand people.

Such famous names as Abai Kunanbaev, Bogenbai batyr, Kabanbai batyr, Hadzhimukan Munaitpasov, Kozhabergen zhyrau and Batyr Bayan came from the Middle zhuz.

Argyns resided in Turgai plateau up to Chingiz Mountains in the east and the north-western shore of Lake Balkhash. They located in Pavlodar, Akmola, Karkaralinsk Semipalatinsk, Kokshetau (formerly known as Kokchetav), Turgay, Atbasar and Kostanay regions. Their slogan was - "Akzhol".

Naymans settled mainly in the eastern region of Kazakhstan, in the plateaus of Alatay mountains up to Dzungar Alatau. Some of Naymans migrated near Ulytau mountains in central Kazakhstan and along the banks of the Syr Darya. Before the October Revolution Naymans were settled in Lepsinsk, Kapalsky, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Zaisan, Atbasar, Semipalatinsk, Perovsky uyezds (districts). Their motto and slogan was - "Kaptagai!"

Kypchaks lived mainly in central Kazakhstan, on the southern banks of the Syr Darya in its middle and downstream and on the banks of the Tobol. According to the imperial census, they settled in Kostanay, Perovsky, Pavlodar and Omsk districts. Their slogan was- "Oybas."

Konyrats resided in southern Kazakhstan, on the southern shores of the Syr Darya and in its middlestream, also in the foothills of the Karatau. They mostly lived in Chimkensk, Pervosky, Tashkent uyezds, and in other regions of Central Asia. Their Battle Cry was "Alatau".

Kereys lived in the North and East Kazakhstan, on the banks of the Irtysh and Ishim and in the western spurs of the Altai Mountains, in Perovsky, Omsk, Karkaralinsk, Kostanay, Semipalatinsk, Zaisan uyezds. Their slogan was - "Akzhol Karakozha."

Uaks settled in groups, scattered from coast of Turgai and Tobol Rivers to the borders of East Kazakhstan. They lived in Semipalatinsk, Pavlodar and Petropavlovsk districts. Their motto and slogan was- "Zhaubasar, Mukamal." / Ref: ru.wikipedia.org / wiki / Middle jüz /
